I studied the molecular mechanisms of Insertion Sequence transposition in bacteria for 4 years, membrane stress response in Yersinia enterocolitica for 3 years, type VI secretion system in Yersinia genus and Citrobacter rodentium for 2 years. During 10 years of research, I thus studied various areas of research in microbiology. Now, I spend half of my time teaching microbiology and bacterial genetic and the other half doing research, this time on metal resistance in bacteria and adaptation of phytobacteria to plants.

I love working on different topics. My favorite bugs are now E. coliPseudomonas and Dickeya.

Bacteria in the environment are subjected to difficult living conditions. They are often subjected to stresses caused by the presence of xenobiotic compounds such as the presence of heavy metals or antibiotics in high concentrations. Contact with a living organism (amoebas, plants) is also a source of stress for bacteria because these higher organisms produce molecules that allow them to defend themselves against bacteria. 

Through the study of bacteria such as Dickeya dadantii, I am trying to determine how these bacteria survive in the soil and in the plant.
